Frequently Asked questions

Hydrafacial

  • Hydrafacial is suitable for most skin types. Completely customizable whether you’re looking to deep clean your pores, exfoliate your skin, or simply give your skin a healthy glow. If you’re unsure what your skin needs don’t worry, we will assess your skin and give you recommendations based on your skin concerns and goals!

  • Hydrafacial is not recommended for those who have recently been on Accutane, have active cold sores, severe rosacea, have had recent cosmetic procedures such as Botox, Filler, Chemical Peels, or Laser Treatments (within two weeks.)

  • Avoid retinol, exfoliating acids, or harsh scrubs for a minimum of, 48 hours prior. If you’re unsure whether to pause a specific product, we’re happy to give personalized guidance.

  • Hydrafacial’s patented Vortex-Fusion technology uses gentle suction to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and infuse hydrating serums all in one treatment. Your skin will feel refreshed, hydrated, and glowing.

  • You can expect instantly smoother and glowing skin. Some mild redness is common but typically fades within an hour. Most people notice immediate results, with improved hydration and clarity lasting for weeks after.

  • Hydrafacial is a zero downtime treatment which means you can stick to your regular skincare routine. However, we do recommend waiting at least 24-48 hours before using any active ingredients on your skin. Don’t worry, we will guide you based on your current routine to make sure everything pairs well with your treatment.

  • Every 4–6 weeks is ideal to maintain optimal results, support hydration, and keep pores clear. Clients love incorporating monthly Hydrafacials as a regular maintenance step in their skincare routine.

Microneedling

  • Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses tiny needles to create thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This activates your body’s natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer, healthier looking skin.

  • Microneedling targets many common skin concerns, including acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, skin texture, and overall skin health.

  • Before your first treatment, you’ll have a consultation so we can chat about your skin, your goals, and everything you need to know for pre & post-care. When your appointment begins, we apply a topical numbing cream to help minimize any discomfort and keep the experience as comfortable as possible.

  • Your skin will be red and may feel sensitive after the treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically fade within 48 hours. You will receive an aftercare kit with products and instructions to help you care for your skin for the next 5-7 days following your treatment.

  • To achieve the best results, we typically recommend a series of treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. During your consultation, we will create a personalized treatment plan, and the number of sessions needed will vary depending on your skin concerns and goals.

  • You may not be a candidate for Microneedling if you have:

    • Pregnancy / Breastfeeding

    • Use of Accutane within the last 6 months

    • Active cold sores or infection

    • Cystic or inflamed acne

    • A history of keloid scarring

    • Allergies to topical lidocaine

    • Recent sunburn

If you’re unsure, we’re always happy to assess your skin during a consultation.

  • To ensure the best results, please:

    • Discontinue use of active ingredients 5-7 days prior to your appointment. This includes: Retinol, topical antibiotics, chemical exfoliants such as AHA’s and BHA’s, Benzoyl Peroxide, and Hydroquinone.

    • Avoid any Laser, IPL, and Chemical peels in the treatment area for 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

    • No Botox or Filler 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

    • Avoid any waxing, depilatory creams (Nair), and electrolysis 5-7 days prior to your appointment.

    • If you are prone to cold sores, we recommend taking an anti-viral 2 days prior and the day of your appointment.

    • Avoid taking any anti-inflammatory medications such as Advil, Motrin, or Ibuprofen for 48 hours prior to your appointment. These will inhibit the natural inflammatory process that is responsible for your skin rejuvenation.

    • Your skin may feel warm, tight, or sensitive, similar to a sunburn. Redness and pinpoint bruising are completely normal.

    • Avoid anti-inflammatory medications for 5 to 7 days and do not ice the skin.

    • Wait at least 4 hours before cleansing with cool water.

    • Apply SPF 30 after 24 hours and avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks.

    • Avoid sweating, strenuous exercise, hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 to 48 hours.

    • Mineral makeup may be used after 48 hours if the skin is no longer irritated.

    • You may return to your regular skincare routine 5 to 7 days after your appointment.

    • Some dryness and flaking is normal during healing — do not pick or exfoliate the skin.

    • Keep your skin hydrated with gentle, soothing products.

Laser hair removal

  • Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how manageable it feels. The sensation is similar to a quick rubber band snap, and it passes in an instant. Our laser has a cooling system that blows cold air on the skin during each pulse, making the treatment much more comfortable from start to finish.

  • To get the best results, your sessions will be spaced anywhere from four to eight weeks apart, depending on the area we’re treating. This timing helps us catch the hair in the right growth phase each time.

  • Laser hair removal works gradually, and everyone’s hair grows a little differently. Most clients see their best results after six to ten sessions, with many achieving up to 95 percent permanent reduction. Your plan will always be tailored to your unique hair and goals.

  • Yes, please! For the laser to work effectively, the area needs to be freshly shaved. Shaving the night before or the morning of your appointment is perfect.

  • You may not be eligible for treatment if you have any of the following:

    • Recent sunburn or sun exposure (within 2–4 weeks)

    • Spray tan or self-tanner on the skin (within 2 weeks)

    • Epilepsy

    • Use of Accutane within the last 6 months

    • Photosensitizing medications

    • Pregnancy

    • Rash or suspicious lesions in the treatment area

    • Active herpes outbreak

    • Psoriasis, eczema, or broken skin in the treatment area

    • History of keloid scarring

    • Botox or filler in the treatment area within the last 2 weeks

If you’re unsure, we are happy to assess and guide you during a consultation.

  • To get the best and safest results:

    • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, spray tans, and self-tanner for 2 weeks before your appointment.

    • Shave the treatment area the night before or the morning of your appointment.

    • Do not wax, tweeze, bleach, or use depilatory creams before or between sessions.

    • If you are prone to cold sores or herpes outbreaks, we recommend taking an antiviral medication before treatment.

    • If your skin feels dry or irritated, apply aloe vera to soothe the area.

    • Avoid exposing the treatment area to heat, chlorine, and friction for 24-48 hours.

    • Do not shave the area for 2–3 days following treatment. After that, you may shave as normal.

    • Keep your skin protected with SPF.

dermaplaning

  • Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliating treatment that uses a medical-grade blade to remove dead skin and peach fuzz, instantly revealing smoother, brighter skin. Your skincare products absorb more effectively, your makeup will apply flawlessly, and it requires no downtime.

  • Most skin types can benefit from Dermaplaning, including dry, dull, or uneven skin. It is also great for clients who want smoother makeup application and an instant glow.
You may not be a candidate if you have active acne, open lesions, or very sensitive or reactive skin.

  • To get the best results:

    • Avoid Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliants 24- 48 hours before your appointment

    • Avoid waxing the treatment area 3–5 days before your appointment

    • Avoid excessive sun exposure

No major prep is required—just healthy skin that is not irritated.

  • Dermaplaning is a relaxing, pain-free treatment. You will feel light, gentle strokes across the skin as the blade removes dead skin and fine hair.

    • Avoid Retinol, exfoliants, and strong active ingredients for 24-28 hours

    • Wear SPF daily

    • Dermplaning increases product absorption, so this is a great time to focus on hydration

  • Most clients receive dermaplaning every 4-6 weeks, which aligns with the skin’s natural cell turnover cycle.

chemical peels

  • Chemical peels offer three core benefits: they brighten, lighten, and tighten the skin.

  • Chemical peels are helpful for improving:

    • Uneven skin tone and texture

    • Fine lines and wrinkles

    • Acne and congestion

    • Dull or tired looking skin

They work by exfoliating the top layers of skin to reveal a smoother, brighter surface underneath.

  • Before your first peel, you will have a consultation where we discuss your skin goals, what to expect, pre & post-care, and any questions you may have. This allows us to select the perfect peel for your skin type, concerns, and sensitivity level.

  • You may not be eligible if you have:

    • Active cold sores, infection, or open lesions

    • Recent sunburn or significant sun exposure

    • Use of Accutane within the last 6 months

    • Highly sensitive or compromised skin

    • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

    • A history of keloid scarring

  • To keep your skin safe and get the best results:

    • Discontinue use of all active ingredients (AHA’s, BHA’s, Retinol’s etc.) 3-5 days before your appointment.

    • Prescription Retinol, Retin-A, Tretinoin, etc. Must be discontinued 5-7 days before your appointment.

    • No cosmetic injections (Botox, Filler, etc.), Laser treatments, or Microneedling 14 days before your appointment.

    • No waxing, threading, or hair removal creams 5-7 days before your appointment

  • Depending on the peel strength, you may experience:

    • Light flaking or dryness

    • Mild redness

    • Skin may feel warm, tight, or slightly sensitive — similar to a mild sunburn

  • Most clients return to their regular routine after 5–7 days, once the skin is no longer sensitive.

    • Makeup can usually be worn 24–48 hours after the peel, depending on your skin’s response.

    • Keep your skincare simple and gentle.

    • Avoid Retinol, exfoliants, and active ingredients for 5-7 days

    • Apply a hydrating moisturizer and SPF daily.

    • Avoid heat, sweating, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours.

    • Do not pick or peel any flaking skin.

    • Avoid prolonged sun exposure for 1–2 weeks.

  • Many clients notice brighter, smoother skin after just one treatment. For best results, especially for concerns like texture, acne, or pigmentation, a series of treatments is recommended.

facials

  • Before your treatment, we will chat about your skin goals, concerns, and current routine. Based on this, we will choose a treatment plan that best fits your needs.

  • Most clients can safely receive a facial, but you may not be a candidate if you have:

    • Active cold sores or infections

    • Open wounds, cuts, or broken skin

    • Severe sunburn

    • Certain skin conditions that require medical treatment

    • Recent Chemical Peels, Microneedling, or Laser treatments in the area

We will always assess your skin before beginning to ensure your treatment is safe and effective.

  • No major prep is needed before a facial, but to get the best results:

    • Avoid Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and harsh exfoliants 24-48 hours before your appointment

  • Your skin will feel clean, hydrated, and refreshed. You may experience temporary redness from exfoliation or extractions, which usually settles within a few hours. Most clients notice an immediate glow.

  • For maintaining results and healthy skin, we generally recommend facials every 4 to 6 weeks. Your aesthetician can suggest a schedule based on your goals and skin’s needs.
