FAQ

We know choosing the right treatment can feel overwhelming, so we’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions we hear. From how to prep for your appointment to what results you can expect, this section will guide you through everything you need to know before you visit.

  • Chemical peels offer three core benefits: they brighten, lighten, and tighten the skin. They refresh your complexion, boost radiance, and support smoother, healthier-looking skin.

  • Chemical peels are helpful for improving:

    • Uneven skin tone and texture

    • Fine lines and wrinkles

    • Acne and congestion

    • Dull or tired-looking skin

They work by exfoliating the top layers of skin to reveal a smoother, brighter surface underneath.

  • Before your first peel, you will have a consultation where we discuss your skin goals, what to expect, pre- and post-care, and any questions you may have. This allows us to select the perfect peel for your skin type, concerns, and sensitivity level.

  • You may not be eligible if you have:

    • Active cold sores, infection, or open lesions

    • Active or inflamed acne (depending on peel type)

    • Recent sunburn or significant sun exposure

    • Use of Accutane within the last 6 months

    • Highly sensitive or compromised skin

    • Pregnancy or breastfeeding (depending on ingredients)

    • A history of keloid scarring

    • Recent use of strong actives (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide)

    • Recent facial waxing or laser treatments

A consultation will always determine what is safest and most effective for you.

  • To keep your skin safe and get the best results:

    • Stop active skincare (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, exfoliants) for 5–7 days.

    • Avoid tanning beds, sun exposure, and self-tanner for 1–2 weeks.

    • Do not wax or use depilatory creams for 5–7 days.

    • Avoid chemical peels, IPL, or laser treatments in the area for 2 weeks.

    • Stay hydrated and avoid anything that may irritate the skin.

    • Take an antiviral beforehand if you are prone to cold sores.

  • Your skin may feel warm, tight, or slightly sensitive — similar to a mild sunburn. Depending on the peel strength, you may experience:

    • Light flaking or dryness

    • Mild redness

    • Minimal visible peeling (for lighter peels)

    • More noticeable peeling around days 2–4 (for stronger peels)

These are normal signs of skin renewal.

  • For the first few days:

    • Keep your skincare simple and gentle.

    • Avoid retinol, exfoliants, and acids until fully healed.

    • Apply a hydrating moisturizer and SPF daily.

    • Avoid heat, sweating, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours.

    • Do not pick or peel any flaking skin.

    • Avoid sun exposure for 1–2 weeks.

  • Most clients return to their regular routine after 5–7 days, once the skin is no longer sensitive. Makeup can usually be worn 24–48 hours after the peel, depending on your skin’s response.

  • Many clients notice brighter, smoother skin after just one treatment. For best results, especially for concerns like texture, acne, or pigmentation, a series of treatments is recommended.
